SEMINAR

The Universities of Aberdeen, Cambridge, Reading and Ulster would like to invite submissions to an International
Real Estate Economics and Finance Research Seminar, to be held at Sabhal
Mòr Ostaig (http://www.smo.uhi.ac.uk/beurla/),
Sleat, Isle of Skye, Scotland, UK, from Sunday 29 August to Wednesday 1 September
2010.
Submissions
are invited in the following areas:
- Securitised real
estate and links to financial markets;
- Modelling real estate
space markets;
- Property portfolios
and property in mixed asset portfolios;
- Valuation and pricing;
- The operation of
housing markets; and
- Behavioural research
in real estate.
The programme will contain no more
than 16 papers, each of which will have two discussants. There will be time
allocated for a full discussion of each of the papers. The full paper will
be required ONE MONTH in advance and its receipt will be a condition for financial
support (see below).
Authors of papers presented at the seminar have the option to receive an expedited
review at the Journal
of Property Research, the Journal of European Real Estate Research and
the Journal of Real Estate Research.
The number of places is restricted
and only authors, invited discussants and session chairs will be eligible
for financial support. All participants are expected to discuss at least
one of the papers.
Costs
There are no conference fees for
anyone invited to attend, whether presenting a paper or acting as a discussant
or chairing a session.
Accommodation and meals (including
the two dinners) will be met in full for one author for each
paper, plus invited discussants and session chairs. Where there are
co-authors attending, funds may be available to subsidise the costs
of accommodation and meals for the second author.
Support will be available for the
travel costs of authors of each accepted paper, up to £100 for the UK and Ireland,
£250 for Europe and £750 for the rest of the world.
These amounts are for each paper.
Partners are also welcome to attend
the dinners but no other financial support will be available.
Submissions

The deadline for submission of abstracts
is 31 January 2010. Decisions will be made by 28 February 2010 and final
papers must be submitted by 31 July 2010 to allow them to be sent to discussants.
