Federal Reserve Bank of Philadelphia Risk Assessment, Data Analysis and Research (RADAR) Group
The RADAR group of the Federal Reserve Bank of Philadelphia is hiring one or more financial economists and senior risk analysts to assist with research and retail risk modeling for the annual Dodd Frank Act Stress Tests (DFAST), working with the vast array of consumer debt and property databases housed in the RADAR data warehouse. Data also exist to analyze all manner of fixed income securities. Candidates with interest and experience in residential mortgages, credit cards, or auto lending analysis are particularly encouraged to apply.
While the primary job responsibility is DFAST loss modeling, economists and analysts are also expected to conduct original, self-directed research in the area of consumer finance and bank supervision. Researchers have the opportunity to contribute to the Bank’s new Consumer Finance Institute. Candidates may also participate in analytical or horizontal studies of bank safety and soundness or matters related to financial stability of the banking system.
The position requires strong data analysis skills, with a demonstrated ability to conduct analysis with SAS, Stata, R, SQL, MATLAB, or equivalents. Excellent written and oral communication skills are also required.
For the financial economist position, a Ph.D. in economics, finance, or a related field is required; candidates expecting to graduate soon are also considered. For other positions a bachelor’s degree in economics, finance, statistics, or a related field is required, with an advanced degree strongly preferred. Experience in bank supervision, banking, or a finance-related field is a plus.
