The Department of Finance in the Fowler College of Business at San Diego State University (http://www.sdsu.edu) is recruiting for the position of Professor and Director of the Corky McMillin Center for Real Estate (https://business.sdsu.edu/realestate) (filling this position will be contingent upon state funding). Qualified applicants will have a doctoral-level degree in real estate or a related discipline with a record of high-quality scholarship and the capacity to provide leadership in the Real Estate Center through on-going development of strategies and operations. Recruitment will be at the Associate or Full Professor rank.
The mission of The Corky McMillin Center for Real Estate is to promote real estate education, research and industry relations. The Director has oversight responsibility for all activities of the Center and is directly responsible for the self-sustainability and success of the Center. The Director will be the principal fundraiser and spokesperson for the Center. The Director will be responsible for managing the Center staff and budget to include maintaining connections with board and industry representatives and working closely with university/college administration, faculty, alumni, and students.
Qualified applicants must have a record of teaching excellence and quality scholarship, as evidenced by a portfolio of research activities, including publications in appropriate high-ranking real estate or related journals. Applicants should have demonstrated experience in successful fundraising, developing sustainable programs, industry events, and implementing business plans.
The Fowler College of Business enrolls approximately 4,400 undergraduate and over 550 graduate students. The Finance Department is comprised of 16 full-time tenure-track faculty members, and it offers B.S. degrees in Finance, Financial Services, and Real Estate. At the graduate level, the College has the MBA degree with emphasis in Finance and the MS degree with emphasis in Financial and Tax Planning.
